Records reveal that the #OPD put officers with histories of using deadly force on the frontlines during Occupy Oakland protests.
reblogging so the story wont be buried in a week

Protesters being dragged away by the police for excising their 1st amendment rights in Grand Central Station.
Note: The video doesn’t capture what the police say so Im not 100% sure if the first girl had a warrant or something, that’s perfectly possible. But there’s no way both of them were dragged away for good reason. This is a police state in its clearest form

who is this guy? this guy is Tim Sommers and he is America’s first political prisoner from the occupy movement.. today, after showing up to his court date, he will be held until MARCH 13TH for his next court date.. we don’t have the NLG here in tampa and are suffering for it… the pic will take you to an article.. and after you learn more, feel free to contact the following people to let them know this is WRONG!
Reblogging again to spread awareness. He is being denied his right to a fair and speedy trail. Call the Mayor and State Attorney and demand an earlier court date.

Things I don’t like about the occupy movement
1. provoking the police. The whole damn time. If they think they are in danger they are allowed to beat you senseless and while I’m assuming this came after a raid and those are YOUR things, you can’t think they were gunna like you hoping on the truck and stealing it back.
2. Not understanding when they actually are breaking the law. They were in the middle of the street half the time, and even though there weren’t any cars around it’s their jobs to clear it.
3. Shitty fucking camera men, I mean really were you even looking through the lens? I was looking at the night sky half of the video. We need to see things like who hit who first not the line of cops where there are no protesters (on the other side of the street).
I think we’ve strayed a bit from fighting for economic and democratic equality to hippies wanting to agitate the police and ‘occupy’ places without purpose. Granted, I’m not an active occupier so my say is not the most valid, but there’s a reason people think we’re a bunch of idiots. my 2 cents.
In case you weren’t absolutely certain that the government and corporations were not in bed together

YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH BADGES TO PROTEST HERE

I’m pretty sure the US ratio is actually closer to 325:1. Still obscenely high, but let’s be factually accurate here.
This is the point (one of the points) of the occupy movement. We’re not saying that ceo’s should make the same amount of money as doormen but 325x more than that of the average worker? That’s a perfect example of out of control.
I was thinking about the 99% movement with all its triumpts and citicisms and for some reason my mind started focusing on the 59%ers and I came to the conclusion that they are either a front group or are being manipulated by the 1%. Here’s how, america is no longer a pure capitilistic society, the 1% have far too much power and influence. However, even with all this influence they wouldn’t last a second if the 99%ers woke up and realized the bullshit. I often like to reverse engineer problems to see them more clearly so let’s look at this from the eyes of the 1%. If I wanted to divide and conquer minorities what would I do? Create things like the hispanic/latino conflict or manipulate their cultres to hate eachother. So what would I do if the 99%ers began to wake up? Create the 59, 69, and 79$ers to make them argue amongst themselves. People who think that since they’re makng money that everything is okay. Id tell them that putting down the 99% is in their best interest.
Side note: what the 59ers are missing is that although they are working for a high wage as an executive or entrapranuer, the 1% are making SO MUCH MORE. These people are born with money and die with money. I consider it the cheatcode of life, its like they were born with all their pokemon on level 100 and everyone else is training nonstop.
Anyway, what they don’t see is that our ecomonic structure is no longer that of a pryamid. Its more like a light pole with a fat ass generator attatched at the bottom. The generator is the lower class, the pole is the middle class, the little ball is upper class, and the tiny drop of dust or bird shit or condensation from the morning dew……that’s the 1%. And you can try to climb that pole all you want but the forces of gravity (institutionalized structures) are pulling you downwards, not upwards. Its not even speculation, america is one of the hardest places in the world to achieve upward mobility. So my main point to the 59% is this: you may be working hard and living good, but if you stopped working how long would your money last you? That is the true definition of wealth. So if you aren’t wealthy why are you siding with the wealthy? Are you sure that’s the side you belong on, or is it the side you were told to stand on?
